Midweek Family Speak

As parents, we crave the ability to talk with other families who are going through the same season of life with their children. For this reason, we have created an opportunity for you to chat with other families of young children with visual impairments in Ohio. Nothing settles a heart like another parent who understands! We hope you can set aside this hour for yourself and join us the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm.

These sessions are exclusively for adult family members with children who are visually impaired. We appreciate professionals honoring this FAMILIES ONLY EVENT.

Facilitated by:

Jenni Remeis - Statewide Coordinator Early Intervention Vision Services

Lauri Kaplan - Parent Mentor, Ohio State School for the Blind

Let's Play!

As parents of children with vision loss and sometimes additional disabilities, you are often jumping from one appointment to another, and it is easy to get caught up in the feeling that you have to take over as the therapist once you get home. Well guess what...research shows that children learn best through play! So, take a load off, get ready to sit on the floor and have some fun!! We will be referencing information from "Laptime & Lullabies booklet" 7 "Partner in Play" for those of you who would like to follow along. If you do not have the booklets, no worries, all we need is you! We will provide you with highlights. This is going to be a fun one you won't want to miss!
