Incident Reporting and Safety
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) has a system for reporting and investigating incidents that may affect a person’s health or safety. At Fairfield DD, we work together with individuals, families, providers, and DODD to review each situation.
Our goal is simple: to understand what happened and to prevent it from happening again. Incidents are classified as either unusual incidents or major unusual incidents. When a situation is more serious, outside agencies such as law enforcement or children’s services may also be involved.
No matter the type of incident, everyone’s focus is on protecting the person and ensuring their safety.
