Keep in mind that your response will be sent to the individual/family so be sure to take this opportunity to make a good impression. The individual/family will choose the providers and will call those they desire to meet for an interview.

What happens next?

All responses go to the SSA/ISC or family, who contacts selected candidates for interviews. Once filled, the RFP is removed and all applicants are notified.

Requires total care. Requires close and constant supervision at home and in the community. Hand-over-hand assistance with ADLS. Was recently released from the hospital and is relearning how to walk. Making great progress. Caregiver needs to be able to keep up with individual and take him on walks. Find creative ways to communicate and stimulate. Assist in taking him out in the community as delegated by guardian. Not a sit down job. DX: Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Seizure DO, Lennox Gastaut Syndrome.
Best ways to communicate with the individual:
Individual doesn't use words or sounds to communicate what he needs, so it is important for others to take the time to become familiar with his non-speaking communication. His facial expressions can indicate how he is feeling. If he is frowning, there is most likely something wrong such as a headache or he doesn't like the movie he is watching. He will point and touch the things he wants. He sometimes hits to get attention and will take what he wants by grabbing or lunging (i.e. food, drink).
