Join Lancaster Parks and Recreation at Alley Park for the Maple Tapping Festival on Saturday, March 14.
Visit log cabin stations to learn about the history of maple tapping in America, then stop by the sugar shack and see the evaporator in action as it cooks down the sap to make maple syrup. Animal advocates, displays and activities will be available in the lower level nature center.
A pancake breakfast will be held in the upper level of the lodge; enjoy a plate of three large pancakes, three sausages, coffee, and orange juice for $5.00. There will be an auction for several jars of maple syrup made at Alley Park during the event.
